Fun times!!! Daniel takes some steps while holding on! Check it out! We're loving it, and yet, quite in shock.
Did I ever tell you Ben's "Monday" theory? Daniel was born on a Monday, and as time went on, we figured out a pattern- Daniel usually does his new things on Mondays! Isn't that wild?! (sometimes it's Sundays or Tuesdays- but really, still right around Monday) So, it came as no surprise really, that Daniel suddenly started "walking" more on Monday. We noticed he would walk along furniture more or along his exersaucer more just this past Monday, and Tuesday he did it even more. But even more surprising, Daniel was also starting to walk while holding on to me at some point on Monday and then even more on Tuesday. It's so cute. He can walk while we're behind him and, yesterday, I found that he even walks if we're in front of him. Yesterday, while we were at the library for storytime, Daniel was in front of me and just decided to walk toward me- very well, actually. And we're really not pulling him- it's all him. The snippet below is brief, but you can see his little feet going, and you can also see how he's the one pulling me! I should also say, he can walk a little longer than this video shows- he just didn't in this particular instance.
It's pretty amazing. One day, there's not much interest in walking and then the next day, bingo - he's interested! It's like a switch has been flipped! :) Enjoy the snippet...I couldn't wait to share it! You'll notice Daniel's strangely quiet in the video- and you can see his mouth is closed...that's because he's a squirrel at mealtimes and savors whatever last bite he just ate, in this case- hot dog, for quite a while- it makes Daniel strangely quiet and makes me nervous since he does not want to sit while savoring that bite, he wants to play and crawl, and apparently even walk! He usually works it out in time and then when he starts chatting again, we know he's all done. Silly boy- he doesn't know what he wants to be- a dog, a monkey, and now a squirrel- what's left?!
