Fun in the Pool

A few weeks ago we had some really HOT weather for a few days straight (sadly, those were our last really warm days- the weather has really cooled off since) and Daniel absolutely LOVED being the pool then. He was in the pool several times a day and would have gone in more if you'd let him! He'd say "sim" every time he wanted to go in and learned to recognize pretty quickly that he was or was not in swim clothes. If he wasn't, he'd say "nay-nay baby" (for naked baby- to take off clothes) and run upstairs to get changed! He sure loved the water. He's come so far this summer- earlier he would just stand in the pool and splash; now he will even sit in the water (he sure never did that before!), and he splashes, walks around, and plays with so much more confidence and ease.

Daniel also has very definite ideas about what he wants to play with in the water- check out the picture of Daniel mowing the pool! I also loved that he cleaned his toys out of the pool when he wanted to get out- note the toys all lined up in the one picture. (We were just discussing how this is something we must have done right- because Daniel sure loves to clean...So, the question is- how did we do this and how can we do this again with our next kid??!)

My favorite picture is the one of Daniel drinking from the hose- which he just loved doing. He thought that was just the most fun and sure didn't think twice about it. Again with the growing up!
