Denver

On to Denver...and the start of more busy days getting ready for the wedding!

Daniel loved the luggage cart we used when we checked into our hotel in Denver Wednesday afternoon. That was lots of fun for him! Don't you love his new Elmo shirt?! I couldn't resist! After a brief break in our rooms with time to change, we headed out to dinner at Casa Bonita for the immediate family of the bride and groom. We met Rose's family and enjoyed dinner and lots of unique entertainment (think- cliff divers!). Daniel enjoyed the music and clapped every time they were done. He enjoyed walking around and exploring the restaurant and its fun areas, too.

Thursday we all went and picked up the tuxes for Ben and Larry. They had a FIVE-WAY mirror for Daniel to enjoy and OMG did he LOVE it! Guess we just need to get him set up with a five way mirror for his birthday and he'll be totally happy! We all got such a kick out of how much fun he was having with his own reflection. Such a silly, happy boy! Check out the video at the bottom of this post! Later that day, us girls enjoyed a Tea Party Bridal shower with some yummy tea and snacks. The boys headed to a park not far from the hotel- Daniel was a lucky boy to have found a park nearby! Just like home.

Friday was a super busy day. We went to a Wedding Brunch at Rose's brother's house. The food was very good and we enjoyed relaxing there for the morning. Rose and Brad gave Daniel a truck for his participation in the wedding party. Daniel LOVED the truck! What a hit! He kept saying "clip clip" because he knew we had to cut it out of the box and he wanted it out now. He patiently waited while Daddy freed the truck from its constraints and then Daniel happily played with that. Kept him busy for a while!

CUTE story: There were rose petals lining the steps in front of the house where the Brunch was, and Daniel, my adorable clean-everything-up little boy, immediately said "oops, oops" and started cleaning them up! It was too cute. I had to explain to him that they were meant to be there to be pretty. Thankfully, he got over it! Still, I love that Daniel thinks to clean messes that he sees. Actually, he did the same thing in the tux store- there was a box and some cardboard pieces had missed the box, and you can bet he cleaned the pieces all up! (We should have gotten a discount for his hard work! Haha!)

Friday night we had the Rehearsal at the chapel and Rehearsal Dinner at Maggiano's. Daniel was such a good sport through all of this too. He did his part in practicing walking down the aisle all on his own- woohoo!- and then he absolutely couldn't resist the park that was right out in front of the chapel. So that's where he and I hung out while they all rehearsed. Dinner was good and Daniel enjoyed walking around outside the restaurant and playing with his new favorite toy- those matchbox cars. I wouldn't have expected anything different from my busy, energetic little boy- he really had been so good all week and was ushered here there and everywhere. He needed his time to just be. Back at the room, Daniel loved watching the "baby" (himself) in videos on the computer. Free entertainment...brought to you by Daniel!

Saturday was the wedding- that's another post!

Sunday we chilled and then chilled some more. We helped Brad and Rose open their gifts and load their car, which Daniel enjoyed since he got to climb in their car (his favorite activity!). After sending them off on their honeymoon, we headed out to lunch (Daniel fell right asleep in the car on the way- he sure was WORN OUT!) and to return the tuxes. Back at the hotel, Daniel got to enjoy some cool pool time with Aunt Wendy, Grandma Mary Kay, and Daddy. Aunt Wendy even brought an inflatable ball for Daniel to play with! How nice was that! They played in the pool for quite some time. Daniel was in there for at least a half hour. And then he was all pruney and shivering (the water was pretty chilly)...and he was still saying "more, more" barely getting the words out because he was shivering so much. But man, he was sure loving it. A warm bath back in our room was just the ticket for getting rid of the shivers. Dinnertime, packing time, and bedtime were the events for the rest of the night.

Monday we left very early and headed home. Daniel fell asleep as SOON as the plane took off- poor kid, he was wiped out. We were all very tired and happy to be home!

Here's Daniel having tons of fun with the mirror:
