This morning, when Daniel woke up at 9:45 (yes, you read that right- our little boy let us all sleep in a little!) the first he said was "Daniel pumpkin pie" over and over! He was ready to dive into that pie! And it was pretty much all he wanted come turkey time, though he did eat a little of the rest of his food, just to please us. I couldn't agree with him more- bring on the pumpkin pie! It's "ummy" (yummy) as Daniel would say.
Daniel thoroughly enjoyed his afternoon of playing with Aunt Wendy, Grandma Mary Kay (by the way he says "grandma" very clearly now- it's no longer "gra-ra"!), and Grandpa Larry (he works so hard at saying "Larry" too! It's quite cute!). And he had fun showing off for Great-Grandma Pat, Great-Grandpa Bob, and Great-Uncle Tim. Daniel was quite his usual silly, playful self!
Daniel likes Grandpa Larry's pinball machine- he likes watching it and he loves pushing the start button! And we had tons of fun with the blocks- got some adorable pictures of Daniel surrounded by blocks and a great action shot of him diving into the blocks to knock them down.
We went to Grandma Cheryl's house for the evening, where Daniel got to enjoy more pumpkin pie, knock over more blocks, and spend some quiet time reading with Grandma. Daniel also loved Grandma's Nutcracker Ballet music box- when you turn it on, the curtains open up, music plays, the figures dance, and then the curtains close and the scene changes before opening up again. Daniel was absolutely enchanted. I loved watching him- it was so sweet. He stood there so quietly and watched, his fingers intertwined behind his back. And when I knelt down to watch with him, he moved over and snuggled right up next to me- I will never forget that!
In all, we had a wonderful Thanksgiving Day and we hope you all did, too!
