Playdates with Sebastian

Daniel really enjoys playing with his friend, Sebastian ("Bastya" according to Daniel), my friend Coreen's two year old son. They talk about each other when they're not together, too, which is so cute. It's a lot of fun to watch them "play" together, too, because of course they're never actually doing the same thing. And to top it off, Daniel usually has very definite ideas of what he wants Sebastian to do, too, which is also really funny to watch because of course Sebastian doesn't so much want to. I think it's great that Daniel wants Sebastian to play with him- that seems like a really good playing skill and a good stage of playing to me. But Daniel doesn't get frustrated and he really works it out pretty well. They both share very well and when one of them gets hurt somehow or is sad for some reason, they are so sweet at comforting each other with hugs. It's super cute to see them holding hands. I think you can tell in both holding hand pictures, Daniel is practically dragging Sebastian along (again with the definite ideas!). Here are some cute pictures from some recent playdates.

Mid-October playdate:
At their house, or "Bastya's house" as Daniel calls it

Daniel LOVED this huge car ramp toy. It was pretty much his favorite toy at Sebastian's house.

After lunch, we loved checking out the park across from their house- it's always fun to try out new parks!

November playdate (just the other day):
At our house this time

We took Coreen and Sebastian to our local airport's restaurant for lunch since it was such a beautiful day and both boys LOVED watching the airplanes take off. I think this picture is so cute. We were complimented on how well they both behaved too! Proud mamas we are!

Funny story about our lunch- First, let me say Daniel was such a big boy and was able to tell the server what he wanted for lunch- "hot dog". I was so proud of him- when did my little boy get so grown up?? While we were waiting (and this place is s...l...o...w, so we really waited & waited; the boys were SO good the whole time), Daniel was very excited to be there, obviously hungry, excited about his hot dog, and clearly super silly and showing off, and at one point he decided to shout "HOT DOG!" Call me embarrassed- good thing this isn't a busy place. But really, I just had to laugh- it was pretty funny actually.

We came home and decided to enjoy the beautiful weather some more, so we played in our backyard. Daniel showed Sebastian the way.

We look forward to many more playdates with our friends!
