It's been SO hot outside lately, we decided it was time to try out our local pool for the first time this weekend. So, Ben and I took Daniel to the pool yesterday morning for their Parent-Tot swim time and we had a lot of fun. I liked the Parent-Tot swim time because it meant that the kids were younger- it's only for infants and children to age 7. So you have less of the rowdiness that comes with older kids and you beat the crowds!
We were there for an hour, which was perfect for us- just enough time to try it out. Daniel wasn't too keen on the actual pool, which is a "zero-entry" pool that just very gradually gets deeper, starting from "zero water" basically. I love the concept and it means that there is actually a lot of pool for Daniel to stand in on his own. He did get in the water, but he wasn't too interested in walking around, unless we were holding his hand. The spray playground was much more fun for him, and even that took him a while to get used to. The playground itself was a lot of fun, but Daniel didn't love the sprays of water- he kept ducking and running away from those, unless we were holding him. He was finally getting more independent and interested in the playground and all the water when it was time to go. We'll have to check it out again sometime soon!
