We've still been going to Gymnastics every Tuesday at the park district. Daniel has the routine down and loves the stamps ("tam") he gets at the end of class! He looks forward to these stamps every week. We do stretches at the beginning of class and then every week different equipment is out for the kids to climb on and play with. Daniel loves to please his teacher and most of the time will try activities she encourages him to do. But sometimes he will just run all over the place, making me wonder why we do these things (and I know why- for exposure to different activities hoping he will catch on). And then he surprises me with a day like yesterday, he caught on- he tried almost everything! I was amazed and so glad I had the camera. He loved the bar this time, which was actually low enough (or is he a little bit taller?) that he could reach it on his own and hang from it all by himself! AWESOME! He also tried the balance beams a little more yesterday- on his own, too. He wanted nothing to do with the gym mat set up in "triangle tunnels"- even when the ball went under it, which I thought for sure would encourage him. He scooted a little closer, but then wanted my help. Can't win 'em all! Enjoy these awesome pictures of my boy's growing independence and don't forget to watch the videos!
Oh- and when Daniel went to the park with Daddy on Tuesday night after dinner, he got to play with the biggest ball ever! (Well, maybe not ever, but certainly bigger than he's ever played with!) He loved it! So glad the kid who brought it to the park was nice enough to share. Clearly it was a hit.

Walking up the balance beam all by himself: (he stops at the end because he wants me to help him down the step onto the balance beam...)
Swinging on the bars all by himself:
More swinging fun: (and I love that he said "hi" to Donovan and tried to give him High 5)
Daniel's getting good at jumping:

These are his "froggy" jumps:

And in just about all of the videos, he ends by running at the camera- that's because he wants to watch the "baby" on the camera! Daniel's quite a character!
