Daniel's Baby Steps: 'Tis the Season for Baking Cookies!

Prepare for TONS of pictures! (You already know I have a problem just picking out a few! Plus, this is such a fun story!)

This past weekend, Grandma Cheryl gave Daniel a cute little Christmas baking kit (it had a rolling pin, several Christmas-shaped cookie cutters, a silicone cake mold, and a spoon) and his very own small cookie sheet. He was so excited when we told him it was for making cookies, although he did want to make them immediately- it was 8:00 at night, so of course I had to explain that we would make them the next day, which he handled so well. I did already have some Pillsbury refrigerated sugar cookie dough (don't hate me- Daniel LOVES these cookies and they really make baking super easy- a good thing with a toddler in the house!) waiting in the fridge...so after dinner yesterday, Daniel helped us make cookies.

This was his first time helping us make cookies. He was super excited and actually a really good helper. He does love to help us cook dinner (his job is mainly dumping ingredients, sometimes he gets to stir- not if it's hot of course, and if there's any sprinkling to be done- he LOVES to "prinkle, prinkle")...so it came as no surprise that he was excited to help make cookies!

We had a little (okay, a LOT) of cookie-induced excitement...
and this was before he'd even eaten any!

kicking up his legs, and such...
