Day 2 at Disney World

Wednesday we went to Animal Kingdom for the day. This was the warmest day we had- no jackets needed. I was glad for this- now we're in Florida! Our first order of business was to meet Mickey again. Daniel met Mickey when we went to the Magic Kingdom back in March when he was 5 months old. I wanted a picture of Daniel with Mickey again, and we thought the Animal Kingdom would be a good place to do this- the line to see Mickey wasn't horrendously long here like it was at other parks, thank goodness! We even got Mickey to sign our book of all of Daniel's monthly Mickey pictures- what a neat treasure. Thanks to Ben for the idea to bring the book! Daniel's Daddy is really so clever and thoughtful! Then we went on the Safari ride (which Daniel fell asleep during and then he continued to sleep afterwards until we sat down to eat lunch- that was his nap for the day), and then we walked on some of the park's trails and wandered in DinoLand. Daniel enjoyed looking around the park and at some of the animals and he particularly liked playing with Grandpa Larry's pocket watch for quite some time, too. After stopping back at the hotel to get ready for the evening in case it got chilly again, we headed back to Hollywood Studios to enjoy the Christmas lights there again. It was just as amazing as the first time! Then we went back to the hotel to give Daniel a bath (his first time in the big bath- at home we still use his baby bathtub which is actually pretty good sized) and get some rest for more fun the next day!

For in-line entertainment for Daniel- a pen works wonders!

Hi Mickey!

Our family with Mickey- you can see Daniel was quite curious about Mickey!

Daniel eats some /k/'s (aka- cookies, he says the k sound when he wants them) made by Aunt Wendy especially for Daniel. Thank you, Aunt Wendy!

Time for a snooze during the Safari ride

I love Daniel's expression here! He was having fun watching the animals.

Daniel plays with Grandpa Larry's pocket watch, making Mommy & Daddy very nervous. I guess that's what grandparents, aunts and uncles are for- playing with cool "toys" mommy and daddy would never let him play with!

Walking around by the Christmas lights again

Ready for a bath!
Daniel is playing with his favorite toy at the hotel- the "privacy please" signs!

It took Daniel a minute to figure out the big bathtub. His toys all floated away, but he quickly figured out that he could crawl, walk, and scoot to get them. And then he had fun!
